Adrián Ferrando Oliver - Baritone Sax

Born in Alzira. He was eight years old when he started his saxophone studies at the ‘Conservatorio “Mestre Vert” de Carcagente’ (Valencia), where he studied the Elementary Grade and the Middle-level Grade. He finished these studies with Professor Vicente Pérez Ruíz.

 

In 2008, he began the Advanced Degree at the ‘Conservatorio Superior de Música “Salvador Seguí” de Castellón’, under the guidance of Professor Juan E. Fernández Ferrandis, ending the degree in 2012. During this period of years, he attended Masterclasses and training courses in order to improve his technique with renown Professors, such as Arno Bornkamp, Claude Delangle, David Alonso, Jordi Fuster, Manuel Miján, Juani Palop, Javier Alloza, Antonio and Vicente Pérez Ruíz and Gilles Tressos.

 

In 2012, he founded the “SAPA Quartet” (in which he plays baritone saxophone). The quartet has obtained different awards, such as the third prize (in the B mode) at the “VI Concurso de Música Viva II Edición Nacional” of Roquetas de Mar (Almería), finalist at the “II Concurso de Cámara Luís Blanes” of Enguera (Valencia) and the participation in the 23rd edition of the “Eurochestries” programme, going on a 10-day tour in the region of Vienne in France.

 

In the same year, he entered the ‘CRR de Poitiers’ (France), in Professor Gilles Tressos’s class, in order to attend a training course to improve his technique, specializing in baritone saxophone.

 

In 2014, he participated in the “Joven Orquesta Turina” (JOT) giving divers concerts playing the tenor saxophone.

 

He has played the baritone saxophone in “Seiklus Ensemble” since 2014 and in the saxophone quartet “Adsax” since 2016.

 

Since 2014, he has been teaching saxophone at the ‘Unión Musical Polinyanense’, at the ‘Societat Artístico Musica de Alginet’, at the ‘Unión Musical de Paiporta’ and at the 'Societat musical d'Alzira' all of them located in Valencia.

Nowadays, he is studying the “Máster Universitario en Formación del Profesorado de Educación Secundaria” at the ‘Universidad Internacional de Valencia’ (VIU).
